What is a lash serum and does it really work?

We’ve all heard of lash serums, the different brands selling the promise of longer, fuller lashes BUT what is it and do they actually work?

What is a lash serum?

Lash serums are designed to enhance the length and health of your natural lashes. They usually come in a 3ml or 5ml liquid and one can last you roughly 3-5 months depending on the size. They typically have ingredients that can include vitamins, amino acids, Hyaluronic Acid, collagen and botanical extracts to help nourish and hydrate your lashes while promoting lash growth.

Do they really work?

Before I was a beauty technician I too asked the question, is there a way to grow your lashes and brows? Both my lashes and brows were short with my lashes measuring only 5mm. A tech I went to told me that there wasn’t any way I could grow my lashes and that its just something I have to live with.

However, I am here to say she was wrong! Although its not a guarantee that everyone will see results I personally have used two different brands of lash serum and seen noticeable results in as little as 3 weeks. My lashes are now 10mm so they have literally doubled in length!

So what’s the catch? To see results you have to be consistent with application, I personally did mine morning and night but following the recommended instructions of the particular brand you’re using will ensure the best results.

Another thing a lot of my clients have noticed is the price of lash serum with the average price being $90. This may seem a lot to pay for a serum so its definitely an investment into your lash and brow growth goals. Look out for when lash serums go on sale to get a better price. (Some companies even have half price sales!)

What happens if I stop using my lash serum?

If you consistently use your serum and are seeing results then stop all together eventually your lashes will return to their normal length.
